Special Correspondent: Prominent Qawmi scholar and poet Mufti Abdur Rahman Rahmani has joined BangladeshJamaat-e-Islami. He filled out the associate member form and joined Jamaat-e-Islami at the Dhaka City South office on Saturday (January 31).
Mufti Abdur Rahman Rahmani was welcomed by Abdus Sabur Fakir, member of the central Majlis-e-Shura and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City South Jamaat-e-Islami. Others present included Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, member of the central working committee and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka City South, Professor Mawlana Mosharraf Hossain, chairman of the Ulema division, and Mufti Nuruzzaman Nomani.
Mufti Abdur Rahman Rahmani said he wasn`t previously affiliated with any organization but had been thinking of joining one that works for the establishment of Islam. He said Jamaat-e-Islami is an organization where members empathize with each other`s pain, as per the Hadith.
He urged his students and well-wishers not to be upset about his decision, saying he joined Jamaat-e-Islami solely for Allah`s pleasure and to serve humanity.
