Stakeholders’ Meeting Held to Address Waterlogging in Phulpur Municipality

Md. Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur (Mymensingh): A stakeholders’ consultation meeting was held to address persistent waterlogging on Shapla Road, a by-lane of Amuakanda Poyari Road in Ward No. 9 under Phulpur Municipality in Mymensingh.

The meeting took place at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the Phulpur Municipality Hall. It was presided over by Md. Shafiqul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of the upazila and Administrator of Phulpur Municipality.

Among the attendees were Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Convener of Phulpur Upazila BNP; AKM Sirajul Haque, Joint Convener; Golam Mostafa, Administrative Officer of Phulpur Municipality; Kamrul Haque, Executive Officer; Mahmudul Islam, Executive Engineer; ABM Mosharraf Hossain, Joint Convener of Phulpur Municipal BNP; Shariful Islam, President of Amuakanda Bazar Traders Association; as well as residents of Shapla Road.

During the meeting, participants discussed the ongoing waterlogging problem in detail and unanimously adopted a proposal to resolve the issue through the development of a planned drainage system.
