Kamrul Hasan: With the inauguration of Hajj Flight-2026 approaching, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, MP, has instructed all concerned to maintain sincerity and professionalism to ensure the smooth, safe, and orderly movement of Hajj pilgrims.
She made these remarks during an inspection visit to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday night. The minister conducted the visit as part of an overall assessment of preparations for the upcoming Hajj flights.
During the inspection, relevant officials briefed the minister in detail about the operation of Hajj flights, passenger services, ground handling, and overall preparedness.
Minister Afroza Khanam said, “All concerned must ensure sincerity and professionalism whenever necessary to facilitate the smooth travel of Hajj pilgrims.”
She further stated, “The Prime Minister has placed the highest priority on enhancing the reputation of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on the international stage, improving service quality, and reducing the suffering of Hajj pilgrims. Everyone must fulfill their respective responsibilities for proper implementation of these directives.”
She further emphasized, “Ensuring a smooth, safe, and orderly environment for Hajj pilgrims is both our moral and sacred responsibility.”
The minister also directed that the highest level of caution and responsibility must be maintained in managing Hajj pilgrims. She additionally stressed the importance of ensuring proper management and cleanliness of the Hajj camp.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP; Ministry Secretary Fahmida Akhtar (NDC); Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, along with senior officials from the ministry and CAAB, were present on the occasion.
It is noted that this year’s inaugural Hajj flight is scheduled to depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Saudi Arabia at 12:20 AM on Friday night, carrying 419 pilgrims. Stakeholders expect that with coordinated preparations, this year’s Hajj operation will be more orderly and passenger-friendly.
