Gazipur City Corp Wins Gold at National Karate Championship 2026

Syed Atik, Gazipur: Gazipur City Corporation delivered an impressive performance at the 30th National Karate Championship 2026, securing a total of one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in a highly competitive national event organized by the Bangladesh Karate Federation.

The championship was held on April 17 and 18 at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, drawing participation from around 1,000 athletes representing 76 sports organizations, including major forces such as Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar.

Gazipur City Corporation’s standout achievement came in the Team Kata (boys) category, where the team clinched the gold medal. The victorious squad featured athletes Reng Hin Jovin and Sing Ky U.

In the Team Kata (girls) category, the team secured a silver medal, with members Tum Pong Muru Rui Tum Muru May and Chai Nu Yin Marma delivering a strong performance.

Individual success also added to the medal tally. Md. Ibrahim Khalil earned a bronze medal in the Individual Kumite (-45 kg) category, while Sing Ky U secured another bronze in the Individual Kata event.

The team was guided by Sensei Abdullah Al Mamun as coach and managed by Sayed Mahmud. A total of 18 competitors represented Gazipur City Corporation in the prestigious national championship.

Officials praised the team’s disciplined performance and growing competitiveness, highlighting their achievement as a significant milestone for the organization in national karate.
