Scholarship awards distributed to meritorious students in Tongi

Tongi Correspondent: Certificates, stipends, and awards were distributed to students who received scholarships in 2025 under the Dhaka Divisional Kindergarten Teachers’ Society at a ceremony held Friday afternoon at the auditorium of Amzad Ali Sarkar Pilot Girls’ High School and College in Tongi.

The programme was presided over by the society’s President S. M. Sobahan Iqbal. Sarkar Jabed Ahmed Sumon, President of Tongi East Thana BNP, attended as chief guest, while Alhajj Gazi Salahuddin, General Secretary of Tongi East Thana BNP, inaugurated the event.

The ceremony was conducted by the society’s General Secretary Alhajj Md. Rownak Uddin. Special guests included Md. Abdur Razzak Mia, Principal of Amzad Ali Sarkar Pilot Girls’ High School and College; Syed Atik, former President of Tongi Press Club; and advisors Kazi Nurul Amin Babu, Md. Ismail Hossain Nirob, Tohidul Islam, Md. Zahirul Islam, Md. Kawseruzzaman Sarkar, Sohel Bhuiyan, and Samina Haque.

Speaking as chief guest, Sarkar Jabed Ahmed Sumon said students must be raised not only with good academic results but also with strong moral values. He stressed that teachers and guardians have a leading role in shaping responsible citizens.

At the end of the programme, scholarships, certificates, and medals were handed over to the meritorious students.
