Rayhan Ahmed, Mymensingh: In preparation for the upcoming National Vitamin A Plus Campaign, a media orientation workshop was held on Tuesday at the conference room of the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Mymensingh. Journalists from various print and electronic media outlets attended the workshop, where health officials highlighted the objectives and implementation strategies of the nationwide campaign.
The workshop informed participants that the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign will be conducted simultaneously across the country on June 28, 2026 (Sunday). The initiative aims to improve child health and prevent vitamin A deficiency-related diseases among young children.
According to health authorities, vitamin A capsules will be administered free of charge at all designated permanent and temporary centers from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children aged 6 to 11 months will receive a blue Vitamin A capsule containing 100,000 IU, while children aged 12 to 59 months will be given a red Vitamin A capsule containing 200,000 IU.
Speakers at the workshop emphasized the crucial role of the media in raising public awareness and encouraging parents and guardians to bring their children to the nearest vaccination center on the campaign day. They expressed optimism that widespread participation would contribute significantly to improving child nutrition and reducing preventable health complications.
