Chattogram Bureau: The government-approved and widely read national daily Swadesh Bichitra organized a day-long training workshop for its Chattogram Divisional correspondents, followed by a certificate award ceremony and the Distinguished Honor 2026 presentation on Saturday afternoon at the Theatre Institute Hall in Chattogram city.

The event was presided over by Md. Mahbubul Alam, Chattogram Divisional Head of Swadesh Bichitra and Convener of the Correspondents` Training Workshop.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Chattogram, Mohammad Ibrahim, attended the program as the Chief Guest. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Babu Ashok Dhar, Editor and Publisher of Swadesh Bichitra.

Special Guests included Sabbir Ahmed Rony, Founding Chairman of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council (BJUC) and Advisory Editor of Swadesh Bichitra, and Md. Shamsul Alam, Chairman of the Legal Aid Center (ASK) and Human Rights Foundation.

Among those present were Md. Mizanur Rahman, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and General Secretary of the General Council of BJUC; Md. Jamal Hossain Alam, Organizing Secretary of BJUC; Md. Rafiqul Islam Jewel, Sports Secretary of BJUC; and Alok Bosu, a senior journalists` leader of BJUC`s Dhaka Metropolitan unit, along with journalists and media representatives from across the region.

The workshop featured discussions on strengthening professional journalism, enhancing reporting skills, maintaining ethical standards, and addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities in the media industry. Certificates were presented to participating correspondents upon completion of the training, while distinguished personalities were honored in recognition of their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Correspondents from Chattogram Metropolitan area as well as all districts and upazilas under the Chattogram Division participated in the day-long workshop, reflecting the newspaper`s commitment to professional development and excellence in journalism.
