Pakistan-Bangladesh fashion showcase promotes ties in Dhaka
  Date : 07-11-2026

Desk Report: Dhaka witnessed a colourful celebration of fashion, culture and friendship on Saturday, as designers from Pakistan and Bangladesh came together under one roof at The Westin Dhaka.

Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh, H.E. Imran Haider, visited “The Festive Dhaka Edit” — a one-day fashion exhibition jointly organised by SS Edit and Aura Exhibit.

The High Commissioner spent time at the stalls, interacted with leading designers from both countries and admired their work up close. He praised their exquisite craftsmanship, fine detailing and creative designs.

Speaking to the participants, he extended his best wishes to all designers and organisers. He expressed hope that such collaborative initiatives will continue to foster closer business ties and strengthen people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The event, which remained open till 7 pm, showcased festive collections ahead of the wedding and festival season. From traditional embroidery to modern cuts, the exhibition offered something for visitors of all ages — shoppers, young fashion lovers, boutique owners and families.

Organisers said the aim of the Edit was not only to promote fashion, but also to create a platform where designers and entrepreneurs from both countries can meet, exchange ideas and explore new business opportunities.

Diplomatic observers say such cultural and commercial exchanges play an important role in building mutual understanding beyond formal diplomacy. When artists, designers and businesspeople work together, they help bring the people of the two neighbouring countries closer.

Visitors at the Westin described the event as vibrant, well-organised and full of festive spirit.
