kamrul Hasan : Aminul Haque, Sports Affairs Secretary of the BNP Central Executive Committee, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener and Dhaka-16 constituency nomination aspirant, has said that no concessions will be given to conspirators to protect the country`s independence, constitution and democracy.

He gave this warning in his speech as the president of a joint meeting organized on the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of BNP at Pallabi 2 Community Center in the capital on Monday evening.

Aminul Haque said that a group is conspiring in various ways to thwart the 13th National Parliament elections. Some are trying to question the elections, while others are trying to delay the elections with the help of foreign masters. However, the countrymen are now united to resist them. "The people of Bengal will not accept any other approach," he added.

The former captain of the national football team also said, “The people of Bangladesh have been waiting for a free, fair and impartial election for a long time. Through that election, we want to establish a people`s government. No one has the power to thwart this election.”

He reminded that the people will decide who will come to power. The beauty of democracy is the diversity of opinions; therefore, there must be a mentality to contain criticism and dissent.

The BNP leader alleged that some Islamic political parties have demanded the proportional representation (PR) system. Its main purpose is to ensure seats in parliament despite getting few votes. But the people of the country are not yet sufficiently aware of this issue. He clearly said, “We will not accept this system in any way. The people of the country must also be vigilant.”

He further alleged that despite serious allegations like extortion against the leadership and advisors of some new political parties, no action has been taken by the interim government. At this time, he called for the removal of controversial advisors and giving responsibility to competent and honest people.

Aminul Haque said that some new parties are trying to create conspiracies and instability in the country with foreign cooperation. However, the people of the country will never accept these conspiracies.

Warning the leaders and activists, he said that no kind of influence or injustice can be exerted on the common people. If any complaint is made against anyone, organizational and, if necessary, legal action will be taken.

He clearly stated that BNP is the party of the people. Therefore, solving the problems of the common people should be given the highest priority. “We need those who will work considering the problems of the people as their own problems. And those who do not, we do not need them in our party.”

Leaders of various police stations and wards and affiliate organizations of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP were present at the meeting.
