PSTC Holds Its 36th Annual General Meeting

Special Correspondent: The 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the renowned private development organization Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) was held on Friday, 20 December 2025, at the PSTC building in Aftabnagar.

The meeting was chaired by PSTC Chairperson Ms. Sanzida Islam. Special guests included former Dhaka University Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, Vice Chairperson Ms. Geetali Badrunnessa Hasan, other members of PSTC, and youth representatives.
PSTC Executive Director and Member Secretary Dr. Noor Mohammad presented the Annual Program and Financial Report for 2025, along with the proposed budget for 2026. Members highly appreciated PSTC’s continued progress and achievements, particularly the attainment of affiliate membership with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and the inauguration of PSTC’s own building—achievements attributed to the efficient and visionary leadership of Dr. Noor Mohammad.
Under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Akhter Banu, and in the presence of a representative from the Department of Social Services, the election of the PSTC Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term was conducted. By unanimous decision, Ms. Sanzida Islam was re-elected as Chairperson, Ms. Geetali Badrunnessa Hasan as Vice Chairperson, and Mr. Badrul Munir as Treasurer. Other elected board members include Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, Mr. ASM Mahbubul Alam, Dr. Md. Khalekuzzaman (Romen Raihan), Ms. Aleya Tamzida, youth member Ms. Priyata Mondol, and Ms. Faiza Rahman Anila.
In her closing remarks, the Chairperson emphasized the importance of new innovations, quality services for all, and long-term sustainability to further consolidate PSTC’s progress. She called for collective cooperation in implementing strategic plans aligned with PSTC’s vision and mission, so that the organization can evolve from being “good” to becoming “exemplary.”
It is noteworthy that PSTC conducts Board of Directors elections every two years.
Over its 47-year illustrious journey, PSTC has been consistently working to empower women and address the needs of children, adolescents, and youth. Under the leadership of Dr. Noor Mohammad, PSTC is currently undergoing rebranding and strengthening institutional capacity to transform into a sustainable organization, making significant contributions to national development priorities and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
