Expatriates send $1.90b remittance in July
  Date : 21-06-2025

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent remittances of around $1.90 billion (equivalent to about Tk 22,526 crore) in July, the first month of the current fiscal year 2024-25.

The amount is about $63.20 crore less than that of June when the country saw $2.54 billion in remittance, a source in Bangladesh Bank said on Thursday.

The amount is around $7 crore less compared to July last year (2023) when the expatriates sent $1.97 billion crore remittance.

Bangladesh Bank blame the bank transaction for the decline in remittances in July.

The executive director and spokesperson of BB, Mezbaul Haque, said the expatriates could not send remittance during the internet shutdown and bank closure in the country.
