Model Meghna Alam released from jail on bail

Model Meghna Alam has been released from Kashimpur Women`s Central Jail after securing bail in a case filed under charges of extortion and fraud with Dhanmondi Police Station.

Dhaka Division DIG (Prisons), Md. Jahangir Kabir, confirmed her release, stating that she walked out of prison around 6:30 PM on Tuesday evening.

According to prison sources, Meghna was earlier detained under a 30-day order issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs and was admitted to jail on April 10. The detention order was later withdrawn, and she was granted bail in a separate case filed with Dhanmondi police.

Authorities have stated that actions against Meghna were taken according to existing laws.
