4 held with arms in Savar

Joint forces have arrested four alleged teenage gang members with arms from Ashulia police station in Savar on Friday night.

The arrested are Rabiul Munsi, 33 of Bagmara area under Rupsa police station in Khulna district, Nasir Sheikh, 21 of Madhyapara area under Gopalpur police station in Tangail district, Md Joni of Olipur area under Ghatail upazila, also in Tangail district and Shri Shuv Kumar of Ghosaibari area under Dhunut upazila in Bogura district.

According to law enforcers, joint forces conducted a raid at Sharif Chowdhury`s house near Jamgora Chourasta area at around 10 PM to rescue the couple who were abducted by teenage gang members.

They seized local weapons, a Chinese axe, a stun gun, four switchblades, seven machetes, walkie-talkie sets, counterfeit money and evidence of prostitution during their drive.

Another individual was arrested at the scene.

Later, the arrested individuals and the recovered items were handed over to police station.

Ashulia Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Hannan confirmed the incident and said that necessary legal steps will be taken if any complaint is lodged.
