  Date : 09-09-2025

A reporter suddenly fell sick and later died while covering DUCSU election news at Curzon Hall centre of the campus on Tuesday.

Deceased Tariqul Shibli, 40, worked as city reporter of a online-based television channel `Channel S`.

Witnesses said Tariqul was on live inside Curzon Hall of Dhaka University. Suddenly, he fell sick and was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious state where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Tariqul Shibli hailed from Cumilla. He used to live with his family in Uttara`s Diabari area.

The hospital physicians suspect that he might have died of cardiac arrest. However, the exact cause of his death will be known once the autopsy report is received, said the hospital police camp in-charge Md Farruq.
