NGO Officer Found Dead in Rented Apartment in Manikganj
  Date : 08-10-2025

Kamrul Hasan: Police have recovered the body of an NGO officer named Samayel Hasda (30) from a rented apartment in the Porra area of Manikganj town.

The body was recovered around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The deceased, Samayel, was the son of Sarkar Hasda from Chanlai village in Goragari upazila. He was working as an associate officer at a local NGO named BARCIK in Manikganj.

According to BARCIK officer Nazrul Islam, Samayel used to live in a rented flat at Professor Housing Building in the Porra area. After returning home on Monday night following the Puja holidays, he did not come to the office on Tuesday morning as usual. When colleagues went to his apartment to check on him, they found the door locked from inside. After repeated knocking without any response, they informed the police. Later, police and fire service personnel broke open the door and recovered his body.

SM Aman Ullah, Officer-in-Charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, said that preliminary investigations suggest Samayel might have died from a stroke. The body is being prepared to be sent to the morgue for autopsy.
