Kamrul Hasan: A shocking incident has taken place in Saturia upazila of Manikganj, where a mother was allegedly killed by her son and daughter-in-law. Following the incident, the victim’s younger son, Jhontu Rajbangshi, filed a murder case at Saturia Police Station on Wednesday night (October 22). Police have already arrested three people and sent them to court. The arrestees are the victim’s elder son Ranjit Rajbangshi, daughter-in-law Parbati Rani Rajbangshi, and grandson Piyas Rajbangshi. According to police, the trio was sent to court on Thursday morning after completing legal procedures. On Monday morning (October 20), police recovered the body of Lokkhi Rajbangshi from a pond in the Purbo Bottola area of Darggram Union under Saturia upazila. The body was later sent to the morgue of Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The victim’s younger son and complainant, Jhontu Rajbangshi, said, “Around 1 a.m. on Sunday night, I went to check on my mother but couldn’t find her. I searched all night. In the morning, I saw her body floating in the pond in front of our house. My mother was paralyzed and couldn’t go there by herself. My elder brother’s family killed her in a planned way. I want justice for my mother’s murder.” Local resident Limon Kazi said, “Lokkhi Rajbangshi had been paralyzed for nearly five years. She couldn’t move around on her own. Finding her body in the pond has raised suspicion among locals. We demand a proper investigation and punishment for those responsible.” The victim’s elder daughter, Kamna Rajbangshi, said, “My mother had been living with me in Nagarpur, Tangail for the past two years. None of my three brothers cared for her, so I kept her with me. But eight days ago, my elder brother Ranjit came and took her away. She was already in poor health, and now they’ve killed her. I want a fair trial.” Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahinul Islam of Saturia Police Station said, “Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it for autopsy. Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s son, Jhontu Rajbangshi, three people have been arrested and sent to court after completing legal procedures.” Would you like me to make this version more polished for publication in a newspaper (e.g., for print or online news format)?
