Special Correspondent: The Bangladesh Justice Party(BAJAPA) strongly condemns the regrettable and unacceptable incident that occurred near the residential premises of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on 20 December 2025. Such an act constitutes a clear violation of international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
In a joint statement issued on Sunday, where Dr. Syed Zaved Mohammad Salehuddin, Chairman of Bangladesh Justice Party and Anok Ali Hossain Sahedi, Secretary General of Bangladesh Justice Party said, "we express grave concern that previous attacks on the Bangladesh Deputy High Commissions in Kolkata and Agartala, incidents of desecration of the national flag of Bangladesh, and repeated breaches of diplomatic security in India have not been met with effective and exemplary legal action against the perpetrators. This continued impunity emboldens extremist and communal forces and poses a serious threat to regional peace and bilateral relations."
The Bangladesh Justice Party firmly rejects any attempt to portray an isolated criminal incident as evidence of minority persecution in Bangladesh. Communal harmony in Bangladesh remains stronger than in many parts of South Asia, and the prompt arrest of the accused demonstrates Bangladesh’s unwavering commitment to the rule of law.
We call upon the United Nations to take due cognizance of the attacks on Bangladeshi diplomatic missions in India, the desecration of national symbols, and the organized anti-Bangladesh propaganda being disseminated through certain sections of the Indian media. We also urge diplomatic missions based in Bangladesh, along with the United Nations, to take special and effective initiatives to counter such misinformation and disinformation.
The Bangladesh Justice Party is deeply alarmed by the increasing incidents of killings, arson, looting, and communal violence against minority Muslim, Sikh, and Dalit Hindu communities in India, allegedly with the patronage of communal political forces. In this context, we strongly demand the formation of an International Minority Commission, coordinated by the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and Amnesty International, to work globally for the protection and rights of minority communities.
The establishment of such a commission is essential to uphold human dignity, justice, and equal rights for minorities worldwide.
