Chhatra Shibir protests against BNP`s extortion and violence against women
  Date : 01-02-2026

MM Rahmatullah: Sibgatulullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, stated, "BNP has failed to learn from history. He reminded that the previous autocratic ruler Sheikh Hasina attacked women during the July movement, which instead of suppressing the movement, further intensified it. On February 12, a new sun will rise in Bangladesh. On that day, the conscious people of this country will give a final `red card` to all extortionists and oppressors of women."

He made these remarks at a post-protest rally in Dhaka, organized by Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Dhaka Metropolitan, in protest against the murder of a woman in Gazipur and the continued violence against women by BNP and its affiliates across the country.

The rally, led by Azizur Rahman, Central Publicity Secretary, started from the Central Shaheed Minar, circled important roads, and ended at Shahbagh with a brief gathering. Asif Abdullah, Dhaka Metropolitan East President and DUCSU Transportation Secretary, chaired the rally.

Sibgatulullah said, "Bangladesh is standing at a historic crossroads, with the sacrifice of hundreds and thousands of martyrs. When the country is on the verge of forming a new government, a particular party is engaged in deep conspiracy against Bangladesh. They are involved in killings, violence against women, and brutal oppression across the country. They are pouncing on women like beasts in every corner of the country."

He alleged that the involvement of Chhatra Dal leaders in the murder of a Hindu woman in Gazipur and the rape of a seventh-grade student in Chittagong has been reported. Even those accused of raping a woman for voting for BNP in 2018 are now participating in BNP`s election campaign, which is shameful.

Azizur Rahman said, "BNP terrorists have raped countless women in the last 18 months, with at least 87 cases reported in the media. They have killed 231 people and are involved in extortion and land grabbing across the country."

DUCSU VP Sadik Kayem stated, "A party is now desperate to nullify the historic reforms and new opportunities created in post-July revolution Bangladesh. They want to maintain the old structure to come to power again through the `back door`."

Other leaders, including Central HRM Secretary Saidul Islam and DUCSU VP Riazul Islam, also spoke at the rally, condemning BNP`s actions and vowing to resist any injustice.
