No risk of push-in after BJP win in West Bengal: Home Minister
  Date : 06-05-2026

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said on Wednesday that there is no indication of any potential "push-in" into Bangladesh following the electoral victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal.

"Despite this, we have instructed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to remain alert along the frontiers so they can respond promptly if any such incident occurs," he said.

The minister made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a session of Ministry of Home Affairs at Deputy Commissioners’ Conference, held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

Expressing optimism, he added, "I hope no such incident will happen."
