Rape of 11-yr child: Prime accused teacher arrested
  Date : 06-05-2026

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at an early hours arrested madrasa teacher Amanullah Mahmudi Sagor, the prime accused in a case over the rape and impregnation of an 11-year-old student in Netrakona`s Madan upazila.

Sagor, 30, is the founder of a mohila madrasa at pachhat village.

Madan Police Station OC Tariqul Islam said that RAB confirmed the arrest news early Wednesday. ``Legal procedure is under process.``

On April 23, the mother of the child filed a rape case against two including Sagor with Madan Police Station after discovering that her daughter was seven months pregnant. The incident later sparked outrage across the country.

According to the local residence and police source, this accused teacher established a mohila madrasa four years ago.

According to the FIR, on October 2 last year, after classes ended in the afternoon, Sagor told the child to sweep the mosque adjacent to the madrasa. After the child finished sweeping, he told her to clean his room. As soon as she entered the room, he violated her.

When the child cried out, he threatened to beat her and expel her from the madrasa.

The victim`s mother suddenly noticed physical changes in the child, she took her to a local diagnostic centre for a check-up. There, the doctor discovered that the child was in her third term of pregnancy.
