Kamrul Hasan: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam, MP, has emphasized the crucial role of field-level administrative officials in making the current government’s development initiatives more effective, dynamic, and people-oriented. She stated that responsibility, honesty, and a humane mindset are indispensable in ensuring government services reach the doorsteps of the people.

The minister made these remarks on Tuesday (13 May) during a courtesy meeting and exchange of views with cadre officers from various upazilas of Manikganj district at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

She said the present government is working relentlessly to transform the administration into a more efficient, accountable, and citizen-friendly institution. According to the minister, officials working at the field level are the key driving force behind the successful implementation of the government’s development agenda. Their practical experience,

understanding of local realities, and awareness of public needs make significant contributions to policymaking and effective governance.

The minister further stated that the government has undertaken multifaceted plans to develop the country’s tourism industry, aviation sector, and regional economy in an integrated manner. She noted that initiatives are ongoing to elevate these sectors to international standards through infrastructure development, enhancement of service quality, and the creation of an investment-friendly environment.

She also stressed that the sincere and coordinated efforts of officials at all levels of administration are essential to ensure that the benefits of these development initiatives reach the grassroots level.

Afroz Khanam said that transparency, accountability, and quality public service must be ensured at every level of administration in order to sustain the country’s ongoing development progress. She added that, alongside professionalism, government officials must uphold moral and humanitarian values to gain the trust and confidence of the people.

During the meeting, the participating officials shared their professional experiences, discussed local development potentials, and exchanged opinions on various measures to further strengthen administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
