Toffee to brodcast FIFA World Cup 2026
  Date : 03-06-2026

Bangladeshi football fans will be able to watch all matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the digital platform Toffee after Banglalink secured the tournament`s digital broadcasting rights for Bangladesh.

Banglalink announced the development through its verified Facebook page on Wednesday, ending uncertainty surrounding digital access to football`s biggest event.

Under the agreement, Banglalink users will be able to stream every match of the tournament live on Toffee. The company said the service will be available free of charge for customers who subscribe to designated data packages.

Banglalink`s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer, Taimur Rahman, said the acquisition of the digital broadcasting rights would allow millions of football fans across the country to enjoy high-quality live streaming of World Cup matches anytime and from anywhere.

While digital streaming has now been confirmed, television broadcasting rights in Bangladesh remain unresolved. Concerns had earlier emerged over the high cost of acquiring broadcasting rights, creating uncertainty for local television channels, including state-owned broadcasters.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, 2026. For the first time in the tournament`s history, 48 teams will compete under an expanded format.
