Syed Atik, Gazipur: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Citizens’ Engagement Network (SANAK), Gazipur, organized a daylong experience-sharing programme on anti-corruption activism at Sonartori Community Centre on Wednesday.
More than a hundred members of SANAK, Youth Engagement and Support (YES), and Active Citizens Group (ACG) took part in the participatory discussion, focusing on achievements, lessons learned, challenges, and future strategies in conducting anti-corruption activities at the local level.
The event was chaired by Jobeda Akhtar, while SANAK Vice-Presidents Shekanul Islam Shahi and Fayzunnesa Lovely moderated the sessions. Hasan Ali delivered the welcome address and Rokeya Chowdhury offered the vote of thanks.
The programme was facilitated by TIB Coordinator Md. Atikur Rahman and Cluster Coordinator Md. Mahan Ul Haque Nobel.
Among those who spoke at the event were Fatema Johra, SANAK Vice-President Chitra Saha, Solaiman Hossain Khan Shahed, Saiful Islam, Dr. Salman, Nur Mohammad Rakib, Shiuli Akter, Jimi Parveen, and Adviser Hasibur Rahman. Area Coordinator Rasheduzzaman Liton presented the activity report.
Participants exchanged experiences from various anti-corruption initiatives and discussed ways to strengthen citizen engagement and accountability at the grassroots level.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to continue the anti-corruption movement by uniting social forces and promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability in society and the state, inspired by the spirit of the Liberation War.
