(BSS) - Prime Minister`s Adviser on Education Dr. Mahdi Amin today said Bangladesh-China joint partnership in education, technical training and skills development will take the diplomatic relations between the two countries to a new height.
"The MoU signing marks the beginning of a new chapter in Bangladesh-China technical education cooperation. Our main objective is not to limit this cooperation to the signing of a memorandum, but to make it effective in practice and create employment opportunities for young people," he said.
He said this while speaking at the `China-Bangladesh Education Exchange Conference` held at Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University in China.
At the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed for establishing a training center under the `China-Bangladesh Vocational Education, Training and Research Center`.
A high-level delegation, led by Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan and Mahdi Amin, is currently in China on a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Chinese government on the occasion.
"The government is working to transform education into skills, skills into employment, and employment into economic opportunities," Mahdi Amin said.
He said, "The MoU is not merely a memorandum written on paper; it is a commitment to turn cooperation into real opportunities for the people of our two countries."
He added that an MoU becomes meaningful only when it is transformed from commitment into implementation and from implementation into results.
Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division Md. Daud Mia signed the MoU on behalf of Bangladesh, while Vice President of Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University Professor Zheng Pengwu signed it on behalf of China.
