Why the US removing missile system from the Middle East!
  Date : 18-06-2021

MM Rahmatullah: The United States is removing missiles from the Middle East. At the same time, US President Joe Biden is seeking to reduce the number of troops from the Middle East. The U.S. government is reducing its military presence in the Middle East as tensions with China and Russia intensify. The Pentagon said this on Friday, sparking speculation on the international stage.

As part of this, the Pentagon is removing batteries from at least eight Patriot missile defense systems from Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Biden quoted officials in the US daily Wall Street Journal as saying.

The United States has deployed Patriot missile defense systems in Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia for several years. Patriot (MIM-104) is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defiance system to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and advanced aircraft. It is produced by Raytheon in Massachusetts and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Florida.

In addition, there is a Thad missile system in those areas. The United States has to keep a large number of military personnel and technicians to operate and maintain those weapons in various bases.

According to the AFP news agency, the administration of President Joe Biden is going to reduce that number quickly. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has instructed US Central Command to remove several missile systems from Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia in the next few months. Will. Some will be returned to the United States for maintenance. This decision has been taken in consultation with the Allies and in understanding our strategic needs.

Now the question is, why is America removing missile systems from allied countries in the face of the conflict against Iran? In response, some analysts believe that this time Washington wants to walk the path of compromise with Iran. Because, China and Russia have become the main cause of America`s headache this time. Moscow has cleared its plot in Europe by snatching Crimea from Ukraine. Similarly, Beijing has wreaked havoc on the United States by invading the South China Sea. As a result, the Pentagon is going to deploy missiles keeping an eye on those two countries. Therefore, the Biden administration is in favor of maintaining peace in the Middle East for the time being by holding peace talks with Iran.
