We don’t want to hear, sitting on the judge’s seat take bribes: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman
  Date : 16-10-2024

Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman said, we want to build a society where justice candidates do not have to be subjected to various forms of harassment. No judge will sit on his seat and care for any power other than Allah. Judiciary will operate with the law of the state and the power of conscience. We don’t want to hear judges taking bribes sitting on the bench.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman made this remark while addressing the workers’ conference as chief guest at Abdul Quddus Makhan Poura Muktamanch in Brahmanbaria, organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami on Tuesday.

“We’ll have friends abroad, but will not accept any masters. If someone comes to dominate us, the nation will give him the befitting answer,” he said.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer said that no other party, except their party, has witnessed the oppression in any way in the past 15 and a half years.

“However, we’ve already said that we will not take revenge on anyone. None of us will take the law into our hands,” he said, adding, “We want to forgive as a whole, but individually those who have committed crime must be brought under punishment for their crimes as it is a demand of justice.”

He said that we want to establish a welfare state without discrimination and exploitation. “For this, we’ve given 41 recommendations, of which we’ve demanded the implementation of 10 points from the interim government,” he added.

After the workers’ conference, he visited the Jamia Yunusiya Madrasa of Brahmanbaria. In the evening, he visited the Jamia Sirazia Darul Uloom Madrasah and exchanged views with the scholars.

Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, and Central Shura Members Mohammad Abdus Sattar and Principal Kazi Nazrul Islam Khadem spoke as special guests, while, Brahmanbaria District Jamaat Ameer Ghulam Farooq presided over and Secretary Muhammad Mubarak Hossain Akanda conducted the event.

District Jamaat Former Ameer Syed Golam Sarwar, District Nayebe Ameer Kazi Yakub Ali, Dhaka City North Jamaat publicity-media secretary Ataur Rahman Sarkar, former student leader Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Naeem, Chhatrashibir President Md. Atiqul Islam Bhuiyan, among others, also spoke at the moment.
