5 killed in two buses collision in Faridpur

Five people were killed in a collision between two buses at Mallikpur in Faridpur`s Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The accident that happened at about 4AM also left at least 23 people injured. They were admitted to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.

Karimpur Highway Police Station OC Mohammad Salauddin Chowdhury said that the accident took place when a `Jhenidah Paribahan` from Dhaka collided head-on with a bus belonging to `Green Express` from Jhenidah.

Five died on the spot and 23 others were injured. But the deceased could not be identified immediately.

The buses involved in the accident have been seized and brought to the Karimpur Highway Police Station, OC Mohammad Salauddin said.
