Eid jamaat at Sholakia Eidgah held

BSS) - Sholakia Eidgah turned into a human sea as a large number of Muslim devotees today thronged to offer their prayers on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Eid-jammat at Sholakia was held at 10 am today.

Kishoregonj district administration has stepped up security in and around the venue to facilitate the devotees to offer their Eid prayers hassle-free.

Five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), 1,100 police members in uniform and plainclothes and hundreds of RAB and Ansar members were deployed in and around the Eidgah venue.

Law enforcers also took position on roofs of buildings in the adjacent areas of the ground. RAB and policemen monitored movement of the people with binoculars from six watch towers, in addition to four drone and several CCTV cameras.

The devotees required passing through at least four police checkpoints to enter the Eidgah Maidan.

Members of fire service, a medical team with six ambulances, a police quick response team and a bomb disposal team kept ready to meet up any emergency.

For the convenience of the devotees arriving at the Sholakia Eidgah Maidan, two special trains named Sholakia Express were operated on the Kishoreganj -Mymensingh and Bhairab-Kishoreganj routes today.

Khatib of Boro Bazar Masjid in the town Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah conducted the prayers.
