Kamrul Hasan : S. A. Jinnah Kabir, a member of the BNP’s Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of the Manikganj District BNP, senior member of the District BNP’s Steering Committee, and aspirant for the Manikganj-1 constituency nomination, has wished a speedy recovery for Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman and National Leader Tarique Rahman, who has recently been suffering from a fever.
On Saturday afternoon, upon receiving news of Tarique Rahman’s illness from his close associates, S. A. Jinnah Kabir urged party activists to pray for his swift recovery. The news quickly spread across social media.
It is noted that Tarique Rahman was seen wearing a mask while meeting a petitioner in London on Friday (October 10). He is reportedly suffering from fever and cold-related symptoms. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether it is a common fever or COVID-19. As a precaution, the BNP leader is taking the necessary medical care.
Meanwhile, party sources stated that Tarique Rahman had planned to travel to London with his family on the 20th of this month to perform Umrah. All arrangements, including visa and tickets, had been completed, but the plan was postponed due to his sudden illness.
Although his initial plan was to return in the third week of November, he now intends to return in the second week. He aims to actively participate in the party’s full three-month election campaign. It remains unclear whether he will perform Umrah during his return journey. Close sources, however, confirm that preparations for Tarique Rahman’s return to Bangladesh are now in their final stages.
