Firefighters at 45-feet-deep in search of little Sajid
  Date : 11-12-2025

Fire service teams have been continuing their search operation for two-year-old child Sajid, who fell into an abandoned deep well in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi 23 hours ago.

The rescuers have already dug a 45-feet-deep pit beside the original well using three excavators, but still not reached the child.

The people of Koelhat village in the upazila have been living in fear, worry and helplessness as 23 long hours have passed.

Fire Service`s Rajshahi Station Assistant Director Didarul Islam informed the media on Thursday morning that local residents of the area tried to rescue the child before they came. Then some sands fell down in the well. And there is a pond about 8 to 10 feet from the well. ``So we are digging very cautiously to avoid any water leakage."

Oxygen has been pumped continuously into the well in an attempt to keep the child alive.
