Mohiuddin Elected DU Shibir President, Ashik Named Secretary

DU Correspondent: Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Dhaka University (DU) branch, has formed a new partial committee for the 2026 session. Members directly elected Mohiuddin as branch president through voting, while Ashikur Rahman was appointed as secretary.

The announcement was made in a press release posted on the official Facebook page of DU Shibir on Monday.

According to the statement, the member assembly for the election of the branch president and appointment of secretary and organisational secretary for the 2026 session was held today (5 January) at 8:00 am at Shaheed Mahbubur Rahman Auditorium with DU Shibir members.

The assembly was presided over by Central HR Secretary Saidul Islam. Central President Nurul Islam attended as chief guest, while Central Publication Secretary Sadiq Kayem was present as special guest.

During the assembly, voting took place using ballot papers signed by the central president for the branch president election. After the vote count, central president Nurul Islam declared Mohiuddin, who received the highest number of votes, as the branch president and administered the oath to the newly elected president.

On the recommendation of the members, the newly elected president Mohiuddin appointed Ashikur Rahman as branch secretary and Md Sajjad Hossain Khan as organisational secretary.

Background of the Newly Elected Leaders:

Mohammad Mohiuddin (President): General Secretary of DUCSU and student of the 2018-19 session in the Department of Public Administration.

Ashikur Rahman (Secretary): Student of the same session in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies.

Md Sajjad Hossain Khan (Organisational Secretary): Former publicity secretary and student of the 2019-20 session from the Department of Arabic.
