Explosions caused by gas line leak burn 6 in Dhaka

Six people were burned in separate explosions caused by gas pipeline leak in Dhaka`s Uttara and Mirpur areas on Saturday morning.

In Uttarkhan, three people sustained burn wounds after a fire broke out around 7:30AM in a house due to a gas line leak.

Hasna Hena, 40, Akhi,30, and Ali Hossain,50, were rescued and admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the hospital, said Ali Hossain sustained 100 per cent burns, Hasna Hena 60 per cent and Akhi 15 per cent.

The condition of Ali Hossain and Hasna Hena is critical.

Meanwhile, three more youths were burnt in an explosion due to a gas line leakage in the Paikpara area of ​​Mirpur early Saturday. The accident reportedly occurred while lighting a cigarette.

Injured Miraj, 26, Sujan, 24, and Biplob, 24. Miraj suffered 15 per cent of burns, Sujan 24 per cent and Biplob 10 per cent. All

three have been admitted to the ICU.
