Special Cleanliness Drive Held in Phulpur to Combat Dengue

Mijanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: A special cleanliness drive was held in Phulpur, Mymensingh on Saturday morning to prevent dengue. The campaign was organized jointly by Phulpur Upazila Administration and the Municipality, and led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Yusuf at 11:00 am.

As part of the program, a rally was brought out, mosquito control activities were conducted, and larvicide was sprayed to destroy Aedes mosquito larvae. Garbage and waste from various areas of Phulpur municipal town were also cleared. Alhaj Siddiqur Rahman, Convener of Phulpur Upazila BNP; Helal Uddin Helu, Member Secretary; Golam Kibria, Amir of Upazila Jamaat; Maulana Azharul Islam, Vice President of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Phulpur Upazila Branch; Upazila Social Services Officer Shihab Uddin; Phulpur Municipality Executive Engineer Mahmudul Islam; Executive Officer Kamrul Haque; Administrative Officer Golam Mostafa; and Accounts Officer Raihan Kaiser Jewel, along with other municipal officials and employees, were present during the drive.

Officials said such drives will continue regularly to keep the town clean and control mosquito-borne diseases.
