Former Assistant Attorney General Abul Hasan Claims Dismissal Based on False and Malicious Allegations
  Date : 07-06-2026

Kamrul Hasan : The allegations brought against Advocate Md. Abul Hasan, a lawyer of the Bangladesh Supreme Court and former Assistant Attorney General, and his subsequent removal from office have sparked discussions within legal circles and beyond. Questions have been raised as to whether any actual misconduct was involved or whether the matter stemmed from personal disputes and acts of retaliation.

According to relevant sources, Md. Sarwar Khaled, Managing Director of Silicon Real Estate (Pvt.) Ltd., filed allegations of misconduct against Abul Hasan. It is also alleged that the matter was widely circulated on social media following the submission of the complaint. Subsequently, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification relieving him of his duties as Assistant Attorney General.

However, Abul Hasan maintains that the allegations against him are entirely false, baseless, and motivated. He stated that throughout his legal career, he has worked to uphold the rule of law, justice, and the interests of the state, and has never been involved in any illegal or unethical activities.

In a written application submitted to the Ministry of Law, he stated that Sarwar Khaled had approached him on several occasions seeking legal advice. While he provided guidance in accordance with the law and professional ethics, he refused to entertain any requests for unlawful influence or unethical favors.

According to Hasan, it was after rejecting such requests that a vested group became active in spreading misinformation and bringing false allegations against him.

The application further states that he had no financial transactions whatsoever with the complainant. He also claims that allegations of a similar nature had previously been raised against another individual. As a result, he believes the accusations were part of a deliberate attempt to damage his professional reputation.

Speaking to journalists, Abul Hasan said, “I have always discharged my responsibilities in accordance with the law and professional ethics. Because I refused to respond to unlawful lobbying and unethical requests, a vested quarter has deliberately brought false allegations against me.

The allegations have no factual basis, and I was not even given an opportunity to defend myself.”

He further claimed that since the allegations became public, he has suffered socially, professionally, and personally. He also alleged that representatives of the complainant company continue to issue threats and intimidations against him.

As a result, he said that both he and his family members are currently living under a sense of insecurity and concern for their safety.
