Measles deaths: Application to file case againt Yunus, 4 others

An application has been filed seeking to file a case against five individuals, including former Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus and former Health Adviser Nur Jahan Begum, over allegations of `negligence death` of children in measles.

The application was submitted by Mojibur Rahman Iqbal, lawmaker from Kishoreganj-5, on Monday with the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam.

Plaintiff`s lawyer Salauddin Laskar said that the application has been submitted, but the hearing has not yet taken place.

Former secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Md Saidur Rahman, former special assistant to the chief advisor Md Sayedur Rahman and former director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Md Abu Jafor have been requested to be named as suspects in the case.
