2 killed in Rajbari road accidents

Two people were killed and three others injured in separate road accidents in Rajbari`s Pangsha and Sadar upazilas on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a motorcycle collided with a van on the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway at Nayan Mor in Babupur union of Pangsha upazila in the noon. The motorcyclist, identified as Ripon Hossain, son of Mabud Ali from Fultala village, died on the spot.

Three passengers on the van were injured and admitted to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex.

In a separate accident, Nawab Ali, 60, was struck by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road in front of his house in Alipur union under Rajbari Sadar upazila. He was pronounced dead at Rajbari Sadar Hospital, confirmed by Dr Fariha on duty.

Pangsha Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Harun Or Rashid said Ripon Hossain was riding his motorcycle from Babupur to Pangsha when he hit the van from behind at Nayan Mor.

Despite being rushed to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
