A driver of a pickup van and his helper were killed as the pickup van hit a parked truck on the Bogura-Dhaka Highway on Thursday (Oct 17).

The deceased were identified as Md Ashraful, 23, and Md Rony, 22. They were the residents in Rangpur district.

Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Setu West police station Md Anowarul Islam said the accident occurred this morning in Shimantabazar area on the highway. Ashraful and Rony died on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, the OC added.
