Gold prices rise, bhori Tk 1.57 lakh

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has increased the prices of gold, with raising 22 carat gold by Tk 1,773 to Tk 1,57,872 per bhori (11.664 grams).

This is the highest rise in gold prices in the country’s history till Friday, March 28.

Besides, 21-carat gold was raised by Tk 1,703 to Tk 1,50,699 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,458 to Tk 1,29,167, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,236 to Tk 1,06,539 respectively.

The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement today.

The new prices will come into effect from Saturday, March 29.

Earlier on March 25, the price of 22-carat gold rose by Tk 1,154 to Tk 1,56,099 per bhori, while 21-carat gold increased by Tk 1,096 to Tk 1,48,996 per bhori.

Similarly, 18-carat gold went up by Tk 933 to Tk 1,27,709 per bhori, and traditional gold surged by Tk 805 to Tk 1,05,303 per bhori.
