No casualties have so far been reported in this connection.

The fire broke out at around 4:30 pm on the sixth floor of the hospital’s new building, reportedly in a small storeroom storing mattresses. Patients on the floor were quickly evacuated to the medicine ward as smoke and flames spread.

Confirming the matter, Md Julhas Uddin, station officer of Mymensingh Sadar Fire Service, said that eight units, four from Sadar Fire Station, two from Bangladesh Agricultural University, and two from Trishal Fire Station, rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control at 5:15 pm.
