said that, the arrival of Rohingyas in Bangladesh has led to a severe water crisis in Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas of Cox`s Bazar district.Taking into account the water needs of the local people, the government adopted the Rainwater Reservoir project. Through the implementation of this project, the local people will have access to safe and clean water, which will play an important role in resolving the water crisis.
He made these remarks in response to questions from journalists after inspecting the `Rainwater Reservoir` project located in Anjumanpara area of Palangkhali Union, Ukhiya , at around 2:30 pm on January 17 (Saturday).
Regarding the project, Adilur said, "The water supply project is being implemented by prioritizing the locals, it will solve the water crisis problem of this community."Instructions have been given to those involved in the project, keeping in mind that the marginalized population can benefit from it."
The advisor said, "If the people of Bangladesh and the security guards of Bangladesh are always vigilant and united, no one will be able to violate the borders of Bangladesh."
Responding to a question from journalists on the recent border situation, he said, "The strength of the people`s unity will be reflected in the `yes` vote on February 12 & "People will end all fears by voting `yes` against foreign aggression."
Earlier on the same day, at around 11 am, he inspected various development projects funded by ADB and implemented by the Department of Public Health Engineering in several camps, including Kutupalong No. 4 Rohingya Camp in Ukhiya
Upazila.
During the visit, Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi, Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of the Local Government Division, Md. Abdul Awal, Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, and Nur Ahmed, Director of the HELP Project, Abdul Qayoum, Project Director of EMCRP Project, Golam Muktadir, Project Director of EAP Project, A. Mannan, Deputy Commissioner of Cox`s Bazar, Mohammad Nasrullah, Executive Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering, Cox`s Bazar, DPD of the HELP project Md. Mahmud Khan, Assistant Engineer of the Department of Public Health Engineering, Cox`s Bazar and Coordinator of the WASH Training Center Abul Manjur, along with consultants from various projects of the Department of Public Health Engineering were present.
Incidentally, he arrived in Cox`s Bazar by road from Bandarban city on Friday (January 16) night.
On the morning of January 17 (Saturday), he was present as the chief guest at a public awareness meeting regarding the Referendum 2026 organized by the district administration.He also participated in various programs as per the day-long government schedule. In the evening, he left Cox`s Bazar for Dhaka by plane.
