Pirojpur Correspondent: Ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Adha, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8 has undertaken extensive security measures at cattle markets across Pirojpur district to ensure a safe and hassle-free trading environment for buyers and sellers.
As part of the security arrangement, special surveillance, mobile patrols, control rooms, and modern counterfeit currency detection machines have been deployed at major cattle markets in the district.
A team led by Company Commander of RAB-8, CPSC, Md. Kamruzzaman, visited the cattle market adjacent to the Baleshwar Bridge under Pirojpur municipality. During the inspection, the team monitored the installation and operation of advanced counterfeit money detection machines and provided necessary instructions to ensure secure financial transactions at the market.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the market, RAB officials said that, like other districts across the country, cattle markets in Pirojpur are witnessing a huge influx of traders and buyers ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. To maintain law and order and prevent criminal activities, a comprehensive security plan has been implemented in advance.
According to RAB, members have been deployed at key entry points, trading zones, parking areas, and transaction spots throughout the cattle markets. Separate teams are also working specifically to prevent the circulation of counterfeit currency.
Market visitors and traders are being made aware of methods to identify fake notes, while intelligence surveillance has been intensified to monitor suspicious individuals and fraud syndicates. RAB personnel in plain clothes have also been assigned to prevent incidents involving muggers, “ointment parties,” and unconsciousness-inducing criminal gangs.
Officials further said that a dedicated control room has been established to monitor the overall situation at the market round the clock. Emergency contact numbers have also been activated to ensure immediate response in case of any untoward incident.
A RAB representative stated, “Our goal is to ensure that people can buy and sell sacrificial animals in a safe and comfortable environment ahead of Eid. RAB remains on highest alert to prevent counterfeit currency, fraud, and all forms of criminal activities.”
Traders and visitors at the cattle market welcomed the initiative, saying the visible presence of law enforcement agencies has created a secure atmosphere, allowing business activities to continue smoothly and confidently.
RAB officials confirmed that the security and surveillance operations at important cattle markets across the district will continue until Eid-ul-Adha.
