During the meeting, Dr Shafiqur Rahman appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and resolve the ongoing conflict in West Asia. He stressed the importance of sustained dialogue and diplomacy to end the war and ease the suffering of people affected by the conflict.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer underscored the need for continued diplomatic engagement to address regional tensions and prevent further humanitarian suffering, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

High Commissioner Imran Haider thanked the opposition leader for his remarks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace in the region and beyond.

He also briefed Dr Rahman on the progress of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh in several key areas, including health, education, trade, culture and people-to-people contacts.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in relations between the two countries and exchanged views on ways to strengthen their existing cooperation.
