Staff Correspondent: Dr. Abdul Mannan, Jamaat-e-Islami`s selected and 10 party alliance supported candidate for Dhaka-6, has launched his election campaign with a visit to the graves of July uprising martyrs, including Shaheed Junayed and Shaheed Anas, at Jurain graveyard.

 

Speaking to supporters, Dr. Abdul Mannan said, "We want to work unitedly to build a just Bangladesh. The people of old Dhaka have been deprived of their rights for a long time. If we win, we`ll solve the traffic congestion, gas shortage, and other basic problems of old Dhaka."

 

He added, "We`ve got a new Bangladesh through the July uprising. We`ll move forward with the spirit of July." Dr. Abdul Mannan prayed for the martyrs, including Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi.

 

The event was attended by the fathers of Shaheed Junayed and Shaheed Anas, Dhaka-6 constituency committee leader Kamrul Ahsan Hasan, and other party leaders and supporters.
